Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Can this vacuum sealer work with vacuum sealer bags from other brands?

A1. Yes. Our VS5166 vacuum sealer is compatible with any textured/embossed vacuum sealer bags from other brands. For best results, we recommend using name-brand or Gasbye bags. Some low-cost bags may be thinner and more prone to punctures from frozen or sharp foods, which can lead to air leaks over time.

Q2. Can this vacuum sealer work with reusable zipper bags?

A2. We do not recommend using reusable zipper bags for two main reasons. First, from a food safety perspective, reusable bags that have previously held food may retain bacteria that is difficult to fully remove through routine cleaning, especially over repeated use. Second, they are generally not cost-effective. A pack of 30 reusable zipper bags typically costs over $30 (more than $1 per bag), while Gasbye 200-count precut vacuum sealer bags (ASIN: B0FLXGHDH9) are priced at $22, or about $0.11 per bag. For both food safety and long-term value, single-use vacuum sealer bags are the better option.

Q3. What are the differences between the VS5166 model and the 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭-𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 model on the market?

A3. The VS5166 model is manufactured in the same factory as the 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭-𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 model on the market from 2016. The difference is that the VS5166 is a 2025 upgraded version with many improvements. These upgrades include a removable drip tray, an longer power cord (extended from 3.9 ft to 5.2 ft), upgraded from plastic to metal handles, and the package now includes 2pcs foam gaskets replacement. Most importantly, we’ve extended the 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐲 from 1 year to 5 years.

Q4. I’m worried the vacuum sealer might stop working if a part wears out. Can I buy replacement parts for the VS5166 on the market?

A4. Yes! We offer affordable replacement parts for essential components such as the foam gasket (ASIN B0FHVT2LK2), removable drip tray (ASIN B0D6Z2535H), and built-in cutter (ASIN B0DHGR9CQ6) — most cost under $7. We want to make sure you don’t have to replace the entire machine just because of a small part. Brands that offer separate replacement parts are quite rare; most only sell the full unit and offer limited post-sale support.

Q5. I often need to vacuum seal marinated steak, but I don’t want to draw out the juices. Does the VS5166 have a compatible marinate food container?

A5. Yes! Using a food container allows you to vacuum seal marinated meats or saucy foods without removing the liquid—keeping the marinade on the food. We’ve designed a dedicated container specifically for the VS5166 (not included in the package; search ASIN B0DXLBQV3K to purchase). Many vacuum sealers on the market do not support dedicated food containers.

[95kPa Powerful Suction + Pulse Mode Control] Use Auto Vac & Seal for one-touch everyday sealing—powerful 95kPa suction delivers consistent vacuuming and tight seals. Use Pulse Mode for gentle, step-by-step control. It’s ideal for delicate foods to help prevent crushing, and for moist foods to help keep liquids in the bag—for cleaner, more reliable seals
[Double Heat Seal—Sous Vide Ready] Dual sealing strips create tight, consistent seals for dry and moist foods to help lock out air, reduce freezer burn, and keep food fresh. For sous vide cooking, the double seal helps reduce leaks during long water-bath cooks
[Built-in Storage & Bag Cutter—Less Waste] Integrated roll storage and a built-in cutter let you cut the exact bag size you need in seconds—helping reduce bag waste while keeping prep quick and organized
[Compatible Vacuum Food Containers Available] Vacuum food containers allow you to seal marinated meats or saucy foods without pulling liquid into the machine—helping keep the marinade on the food.
